Aside from the obvious removal of the vertical TGI letters, the new logo sees the reintroduction of the ornate border that adorned the original TGI Friday's logo but was shunned for the last major rebrand in Other than that, it's a fairly bland affair, with a plain sans serif font that doesn't exactly scream Friday to us. The social media version above at least manages to convey a touch more character with its red-and-white stripes.

You won't get much of an argument from me on that one. But then again, I guess it also depends on the specific franchise, as well, since different ones order their subsistence from different vendors.

That said, unknown to most, in most franchised dine-in establishments, just about everything except whole-muscle meat products and cold-line produce is heat-and-serve I'm digging way too much into my past now, though, so I think I'll quit. On topic, I hate that they lost the distinctive shape, but I can see how the simplification makes it more versatile across various applications. I drove past my local TGIFridays and noticed that they have new signage but its not the old logo or the new logo. The border is way too big. Also, the logo could also use the thin, black inner border the old logo had. Other than those two things it's not a bad redesign.
